CHEVAL BLANC SEYCHELLES X JOËL ANDRIANOMEARISOA
UN SOUFFLE DU TEMPS SUR LA MÉLODIE DE NOS SONGES

Cheval Blanc Seychelles . 2024

In December 2024, Cheval Blanc opened its sixth Maison, in the Seychelles, along the southwest coast of Mahé Island. Designed by architect Jean-Michel Gathy, the Maison is an enchanting ode to its surroundings with 52 villas perched on a hill in the heart of lush greenery or nestled on the on the soft wthite sand of the Anse Intendance beach.

“Un Souffle Du Temps Sur La Mélodie De Nos Songes”. Artist Joël Andrianomearisoa’s works reflect the deep green mountains and turquoise waters of the surrounding landscape. They describe the start and unfolding of an adventure, of different textures, as well as the rhythm of the wild grasses of the dawn’s rippling sands and twilight’s rustling trees in the jungle. These, in turn, are all transposed onto large canvases, swaths of textile in 52 shades, each corresponding to a villa.

Light-pink ochre, wild green and cerulean blue have a free hand to colour absolute time. An ode to serenity punctuated with ceramics and objects made from coco-de-mer and palm tree fibers. In Le White restaurant, Joël’s undulating designs are displayed on either side of the atelier’s white wall on canvas painted on-site as well as the exclusive dishware designed by Bernardaud and the uniforms worn by Cheval Blanc’s Artisans.
“From the walls to the napkins, the journey of the rhythm, the melody of a dream, reaches our hearts” he explains.
